Jakarta – many preparations continues in Indonesia as the host of Annual Meetings IMF-WBG 2018 this October. One of them is the readiness I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali.
More than 15 thousand delegates from 189 countries will be present in Nusa Dua. This means almost all the country in the world will send their representatives. Not to mention if the delegates bring their family along. Bali will become a melting pot to the world society, from later in 8-14 October 2018.
The delegates that will be present are the Head of the Governments, Finance Ministers, Central Bank Governors, Bankers, academician, international organizations, Member of Parliament, entrepreneur and investors, NGOs and Press.
Therefore won’t be exaggerating if I Gusti Ngurah Rai airport is going to be a super busy place all week. Because not only commercial planes are going to land in there but also state aircraft and private jets.
I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport General Manager Yanus Prayogi said, PT Angkasa Pura I as the airport operator has prepare Rp. 2,2 Trillions as the capital expenditure preparation for the Annual Meetings.
According to him, the investment will be used for airport expansion and to provide facilities for the world meeting. For airport expansion there will at least an area of 5,8 hectare be required.
Related to that, there are a few plans have been prepared. As reported by kompas.com, Saturday (24/3/2018), one of which is the plan to expand the area with marine reclamation. To smooth out the plan, Yanus said that his side must apply for permit from the government first.
The intended reclamation area is the one beside the airport runway. But, if the permit for reclamation isn’t issued by the government then the expansion will be done by installing the stake.
“We asked to the government to allow (us to utilize the area) the sea or shore to add the land facility reach,” said Yanus. Besides that, a few airports outside Bali has been prepared to anticipate the plane landing spring. The airports are in Banyuwangi, Surabaya, and Lombok.
